Grand Opening of Hong Kong International Airport Midfield Concourse

On 28 December 2015, Hong Kong International Airport’s HK$10-billion Midfield Concourse (MFC) was opened on schedule. It includes 20 new aircraft contact parking stands, airfield utilities, airport systems, an Automated People Mover (APM), Baggage Handling System (BHS), extension of the existing APM/DCV tunnels and aircraft parking aprons. MFC is located west of Terminal 1 and between the two existing runways, and will be ramped up to operate at full capacity by March 2016.
